The Contarini Fountain in Piazza Vecchia in Bergamo is an eighteenth-century fountain gifted to the city by Alvise Contarini, the podestà of the Republic of Venice, in 1780. It was located in the center of the square and was temporarily replaced with a statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi in 1885 before being returned to its original position in the early 20th century. The fountain adds a beautiful touch to the square and is a significant landmark in Bergamo's historical and architectural context.
