Davide Bernasconi was an entrepreneur who initially opened a Tessiture Bernasconi factory in Cernobbio in 1872, breathing new life into the local economy. Over the years, his company grew significantly with several factories in the provinces of Como, Sondrio, Milan and Varese. Bernasconi also built a villa in Cernobbio, designed by the architect Alfredo Campanini, and provided accommodation for employees and services such as a kindergarten. After the Second World War, the Bernasconi company went into crisis and closed definitively in 1971.
