The Conservatory, part of the university complex dello Spirito Santo in Naples, is located along via Toledo in the Montecalvario district. It currently houses a prominent section of the Faculty of Architecture of the Federico II University. Built in the 16th century to accommodate poor girls, it has undergone several interventions. In 1590, it became the headquarters of a deposit bank, and in 1629, of a pawnshop. Its architecture features Baroque elements in the monumental portal and the part facing the courtyard, while the rest was reconstructed in 1960 by Marcello Canino. In the past, it was connected to the basilica dello Spirito Santo.
