Bonanno Pisano was an Italian sculptor who lived in the 12th century. He is known for being one of the first great sculptors of the Romanesque period in Italy. Several important works are attributed to him, such as the creation of the pulpit of the Cathedral of Pisa, which is considered a milestone in Romanesque sculpture. He is also credited with the sculpture of the San Ranieri Door on the same cathedral. However, there is much speculation about the exact identity and specific works attributed to Bonanno Pisano, as historical documentation is limited.
