García Álvarez de Toledo y Osorio (1514–1577) was a Spanish military commander. He began his career in the Navy under the command of Andrea Doria, participating in events such as the Capture of Tunis in 1535. He became General of the Neapolitan galleys at the age of 21 and led expeditions against the Turks. In 1558, he was Viceroy of Catalonia and later of Sicily. He participated in the Siege of Malta in 1565. In 1569, appointed Duke of Ferrandina and Prince of Montalbano, he retired in 1567 to become Advisor to King Philip II, also contributing to the victory in the Battle of Lepanto in 1571.
