Alessandro Antonelli (Ghemme, July 14, 1798 - Turin, October 18, 1888) was a prominent Italian architect and politician. Famous for the Mole Antonelliana, Antonelli significantly contributed to the architectural development of Piedmont in the 19th century. Graduated and winner of the Prix de Rome in 1828, he deepened his studies in descriptive geometry in Rome (1828-1833). Upon his return, he became a professor and held political roles. His neoclassical and eclectic style is evident in the Mole Antonelliana and works like the Casa Scaccabarozzi. Antonelli influenced the urban landscape of Turin, Novara, and Alessandria, contributing to the architectural progress of the era. His legacy is embodied in iconic works like the Mole, a lasting symbol of Italy.
