Giovan Gerolamo Savoldo was an Italian Renaissance painter born around 1480 and died around 1548. He was known for his religious paintings and portraits. His artistic style was influenced by Venetian artists such as Giorgione and Giovanni Bellini, as well as the Ferrara School. Savoldo is especially recognized for his ability to represent light and shadow in his works, as well as his emotional approach to depicting characters. His most famous works include "Adoration of the Shepherds" and "Portrait of an Old Man with a Child."
