Santa Maria del Pi

2.37

Santa Maria del Pi is a church located in Barcelona, Spain. Its name is derived from the presence of a pine tree (pi in Catalan) in the square where the church stands. The church's construction began in the early 14th century, and it is known for its austere facade, featuring a massive rose window that is a reproduction of the original, which was destroyed in the 1400s and during the Spanish Civil War. The church has a single nave, several chapels, and a crypt underneath the altar.
