The Capilla de Nuestra Señora y de San Juan de Letrán is a beautiful chapel in Madrid, also known as the "Capilla del Obispo". It features a Renaissance-style granite building with a façade that opens up at the top, a single nave, a polygonal end, and a star-studded roof vaulting. The chapel is home to a beautiful Renaissance masterpiece depicting scenes from the life and passion of Christ. The alabaster sepulchers inside belong to the chapel's patrons, Francisco de Vargas and his wife Inés de Carvajal, as well as their son Gutierrez, who was the bishop of Plasencia. The chapel was built in memory of the parents and sits in the spot where the remains of San Isidro the Laborer were once kept. It later became the family pantheon of the Vargas family once San Isidro's body was moved to the Collegiate Church of San Isidro.
