Plaza Cánovas del Castillo is a beautiful square in this area and it's dedicated to a Spanish politician who was assassinated in the late 1800s by an Italian anarchist. You might also hear it called "Plaza de Neptuno" for its circular fountain with the ancient sea god on a cart pulled by two sea horses and surrounded by seals and dolphins, with the trident in his left hand and a snake wrapped around his right arm.
