The Lattari Mountains form a mountain range that stretches along the Sorrentine and Amalfi peninsulas. They derive their name from the numerous goats and cows that graze there, providing excellent quality milk, from which their Latin name "Lactarii" comes.

These mountains, composed of limestone, embrace a vast geographical area between the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno. The highest peak (1,444 meters) is Mount San Michele.

The southern slope of the mountains, characterized by steep slopes, gives rise to the famous cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, which descend towards the sea through numerous streams. An intricate system of trails crosses this splendid mountain range, including the renowned Path of the Gods, an integral part of an extensive hiking network that offers breathtaking views and unforgettable adventures through a landscape of extraordinary beauty.
